The Intake Coordinator screens individuals seeking mental health services and links them with other resources needed.  This position provides crisis prevention and management, assessments, and service planning and coordination.

The Crisis Response Specialist is responsible for response to mental health crisis calls from Law Enforcement, Emergency Room, and the PermiaCare Crisis Hotline.  This position provides emergency services to individuals in the community by defining presenting concerns, assessing needed interventions, initiating appropriate crisis intervention services, resolving crisis situations, and facilitating entrance into Crisis respite facilities when appropriate.  The Crisis Response Specialist is responsible for ensuring persons in crisis are treated in the least restrictive and most appropriate environment.  This position develops and maintains positive working relationships with law enforcement, hospital personnel and the judiciary.

The Referral Coordinator/ Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) processes all referrals made to the ECI program and individual referrals made to ECI Therapists. This position ensures that all Medicaid, State, Federal and agency policies and procedures are met.  The Referral Coordinator provides specialized skills training to families with children under 3 years of age with developmental delays in the child's natural environment.

The Medical Assistant Specialist is responsible for facilitating basic medical and non-medical aspects of a patient's treatment at the Mental Health Clinic. This is achieved through collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members and providing physical and psychological support to patients.  The Medical Assistant Specialist collects and maintains record of a patient's vitals, height, weight, and BMI. This position provides the physician with data to appropriately treat patients on anti-psychotic medications to reduce symptoms, achieve a higher level of functioning and/or discharge from active treatment. 

The Community Health Worker will work directly with individuals who use substances and help facilitate increased linkages and retention in substance use, mental health, and medical services for Texas residents living with substance use disorders (SUD).  This position will be required to obtain State approved Community Health Worker (CHW) certification www.dshs.texas.gov/mch/chw within 6 months of employment.

The Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) conducts assessments using an approved testing tool to determine if individuals qualify for intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) services.  The testing incorporates school documents, such as IEP, ARD, and FIE to endorse, confirm or complete an initial formal evaluation.  This position also incorporates medical diagnosis in the evaluation.  The LPA will complete full evaluations when the individual has never been formally evaluated.

The EIS Team Lead ensures Early Intervention Specialists (EIS) provide required quality services to children birth to 3 years of age and their families in the home and community.  This position provides guidance and support to EIS staff and assists the ECI Director and Deputy ECI Director as needed.  This position supervises Early Intervention Specialists.

The MST Therapist is responsible for providing evidence-based intensive family and community-based treatment for at-risk youth with intensive needs and their families. MST intervention is a short-term (three to five months), intensive, and community-based clinical intervention aimed at promoting pro-social behavior and interrupting the child's involvement with the juvenile justice system. MST is non-traditional as services are delivered in the child's community and home instead of in an office setting. MST addresses the core causes of delinquent and antisocial conduct by identifying key drivers of the behaviors through an ecological assessment of the child.

The Clinic Nurse assists with meeting the needs of complex medical patients, including assessment, education, referrals, and follow-up care for individuals with HIV in the Basin Assistance Services (BAS) program. This position provides nursing care including but not limited to administering medications, immunization and collecting specimen including blood and urine and treatments in compliance with a medical provider's orders, BAS policies, and State of Texas guidelines. The Clinic Nurse interprets information obtained from patient and others, including the health care team, and documents all clinical care in the patient's electronic medical records accordingly. This position provides general care coordination including but not limited to patient triage, phone call-backs, prescription refills, lab ordering and interpretation, prior authorization of medication when required.

The Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) provides comprehensive assessments, interventions and support for children birth to 3 years old with developmental delays or disabilities. This position provides in-home/community-based specialized skills training services as prescribed on the child/family's Individualized Family Service Plan (ISFP) and accurately documents the services concurrently. This position educates the families and trains them on techniques on how to have their child reach a certain developmental goal while incorporating other areas of development. The EIS works closely with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families served.

The Mental Health Case Manager provides case management for individuals with severe mental illness, coordinating services and advocating for the patient to improve quality of life. This position teaches skills to the patient to help them cope with their mental illness.

The Crisis Response Hospital Liaison is responsible for ensuring persons in crisis are treated in the least restrictive and most appropriate environment. This position develops and maintains positive working relationships with hospital personnel. The Crisis Response Hospital Liaison facilitates entry of crisis clients into need brief services and/or referral to ongoing services. This position involves assisting with hospital operations outside of core crisis intervention services and offices at the PBBHC.

The Residential Monitor observes and interacts with clients in an inpatient substance use disorder treatment facility. This position is required to be awake and alert at all times during the hours of scheduled duties, is responsible for the clients' safety and well-being and ensures clients adhere to the weekly group schedule.
