The Crisis Co-Responder Specialist will be the behavioral health expert on the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) that includes local law enforcement. The CCRS provides prevention and intervention services for individuals who chronically use emergency services to ensure their access to behavioral health care and to reduce the risk of law enforcement and justice system involvement. The CCSR is responsible for continuity of care following stabilization in the community, hospital transport, or emergency detention.
The Medical Assistant Specialist is responsible for performing clerical and administrative duties for both the Primary Care and Bridges Behavioral Health clinics. This position will answer phones, schedule medical appointments, take messages, data enter notes, contact clients to notify of pending appointments, pull records for staff, screen charts for deficiencies, file/scan forms to charts, perform benefits eligibility determination, obtain authorizations, post payments/charges, and accurately process third party billing activity. The Medical Assistant Specialist will coordinate basic medical and non-medical aspects of a patient's treatment by triaging, preparing and sanitizing patient rooms for use, performing basic laboratory procedures/tests, conducting comprehensive medical history interviews with individuals with mental illness, and educating and managing medications with provider instructions.
The ECI Secretary assists managers and staff to organize the workday so all staff can work in the most efficient manner. This position answers phones, directs calls, organizes documents and files, greets clients and guests, documents financial information, assists with division projects and tasks, provides data entry, runs reports to assist with quality assurance, and maintains the electronic medical records.
The CSC-FEP (Coordinated Specialty Care-First Episode Psychosis) program serves individuals between 15 to 30 years old who are suffering from their first onset of a psychotic disorder. The team works weekly with these individuals to assist them in employment or education needs in addition to helping them understand their mental health and working on recovery goals. The CSC Case Manager will provide psychoeducation, psychosocial rehabilitation, and case management services to individuals enrolled in this program. The CSC Case Manager will ensure all individuals see a primary care physician and have other needs addressed that the individual identified during treatment. The CSC Case Manager will work closely with the CSC Program Coordinator, supportive employment specialists, family partners, and peer support specialists. The CSC Case Manager will provide outreach and education when directed.

This position provides emergency services to individuals in the community by defining presenting complaints, obtaining relevant medical history, assessing needed interventions, and initiating appropriate crisis intervention services, resolving crisis situations, filing emergency detention orders, and facilitating entrance into Crisis respite facilities when appropriate. The Crisis Response Specialist is responsible for ensuring persons in crisis are treated in the least restrictive and most appropriate environment. This position develops and maintains positive working relationships with law enforcement, hospital personnel and the judiciary. The Crisis Response Specialist facilitates entry of crisis clients into need brief services and/or referral to ongoing services as well as handles crises that walk into the Mental Health Clinics.
The Substance Abuse Counselor provides counseling services to adults who are seeking inpatient treatment for substance use disorder. This position provides screenings and comprehensive assessments to determine eligibility or referral based on the DSM-5 criteria and State standards. The Counselor provides individualized trauma-informed treatment services that facilitate recovery from substance use disorders to adults, including group counseling, individual counseling, and education.
The Youth Mental Health Case Manager provides evidence-based services to children and their families in maintaining or improving their ability to function in the community and work toward their recovery goals. This position assists youth with mental illness and/or behavioral issue and their families access medical, social, educational and other appropriate services. This position encourages youth to live their best lives through support, resources, skills training, parent training, safety planning, crisis intervention, and many other services. The Youth Mental Health Case Manager works in collaboration with other agencies within the community and state to link youth and their families to other needed services. This position provides monitoring, assessment, service planning and coordination, and skills training and development.
The COPSD/Care Coordination Specialist provides services under the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model. This model of treatment offers a more comprehensive, holistic, and integrated model of care. Care Coordination provides care across a spectrum of health services, including access to high-quality physical health and behavioral health care, as well as social services, housing, education systems, and employment opportunities as necessary to facilitate wellness and recovery of the whole person. Care coordination closes gaps in treatment by helping individuals access multiple types of services within the community, transportation, and provides follow-up to ensure the individual starts treatment with those services to achieve their recovery goals. In addition to care coordination, this position also provides rapid and timely access to comprehensive mental health and substance use treatment services. Co-Occurring Psychiatric and Substance Use Disorders (COPSD) is an evidence-based practice used to help treat individuals who are suffering from a mental illness and substance use disorder obtain sobriety and achieve recovery goals. This position will provide counseling using the Seeking Safety curriculum or other evidenced-based curriculum to meet the needs of the individuals being served. The COPSD/Care Coordination Specialist will provide the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of addiction counseling that is defined by the CSTAT Technical Assistance Publication (TAP21) Addictions Counseling Competencies: the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude of Professional Practice. This position will provide Care Coordination and COSPD services to youth and adults who are receiving services through the outpatient Mental Health Clinic but also struggling with substance use/abuse.
The Educational Resource Clinician is responsible for increasing awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders within the school districts covered by Region 18 Education Service Center. This position will assist school personnel with implementing initiatives related to mental health and substance use disorders. The Clinician will ensure local school personnel are aware of best practices and evidence-based curriculum for mental health promotion and intervention, substance abuse prevention and intervention, and suicide prevention as well as resources and services available for prevention, treatment and recovery for mental health or substance use.
The Recruitment Specialist assists the Chief Human Resources Officer in day-to-day operations of the department and is responsible for various human resources functions relating to the recruitment and retention of staff. This position will process employment applications, coordinate job postings, attend job fairs, and coordinate the new hire process. The Recruitment Specialist will answer employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
