POSITION SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:
The Staff Accountant prepares and
reviews financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance. This position calculates and prepares monthly
invoices, fiscal year summary reports, quarterly reports, budget and match
reports, monthly revenue accruals, and other assigned financials. The Staff Accountant enters and maintains updated
accounts receivables, calculates monthly salary accrual and posts to general
ledger with recurring journal entries, and performs monthly reconciliation of
benefits invoices.
This position works independently,
under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic
meetings.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, OTHER
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related
field preferred.
Experience Required: At least 2 years experience in accounting or
related activities preferred.
Registration, Certification,
Licensure or other Qualifications Required:
- Must maintain a valid Texas
Driver's license, auto liability insurance and a driving record acceptable to
PermiaCare's insurance requirements.
- Required to pass criminal history
and background checks as well as pre-employment drug screen.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Calculate and prepare monthly
invoices for assigned grants.
- Calculate and prepare fiscal year
summary reports and quarterly reports for assigned grants.
- Calculate and prepare budget and
match reports annually for assigned grants.
- Calculate and prepare monthly
revenue accruals and substance use program financials.
- Submit all substance use program
claims and day rate attendance records into the EHR.
- Enter and maintain updated
accounts receivable.
- Review assigned revenue account to
match balance sheet.
- Calculate monthly salary accrual
and post to general ledger with recurring journal entries.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of
benefit invoices prior to payment.
- Review and import coding of
bi-weekly payroll.
- Update deferred revenue schedule
monthly before closing.
- Review and pay health insurance
invoices.
- Meet unit performance measures or
targets.
- Maintain confidentiality of
sensitive records and treatment information, client files and protected health
information in compliance with HIPAA, laws, rules and regulations, and
established procedures.
- Maintain regular and reliable
physical on-site attendance. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness
are required for the scheduled work day 100% of the time, to ensure consistency
and completeness of program's processes.
- Comply with the Abuse, Neglect,
and Exploitation policy and reporting requirements.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct and
Standards of Behavior policy requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective
work relationships with individuals served and their families, supervisors,
co-workers and visitors by demonstrating cooperative, courteous and respectful

- Maintain valid and current
driver's license, auto insurance, acceptable driving record and reliable
transportation at all times. Driving may be required for this position.

prior to due date.
